The Fly Fishing Experience
The Lodge's two helicopters uplift guests after an ample breakfast, from the helipad located a few feet away.
Streamside lunches are served amidst the rising, bushclad mountainsides, spectacular waterfalls, and the lush native Beech forests of the river valleys.
Nowhere else in the world can large, wild, Rainbow and Brown trout be caught on a dry fly in such a pristine environment.
And remember, Cedar Lodge is a catch-and-release lodge so bring your camera and plenty of film! At the end of the day you are safely returned to the comforts of your home away from home, and greeted with hor-doerves, cocktails, and dinner.
Whilst a 10 pound plus trout is a rarity, guests will fish at trout that are consistently in the 3-6lb range.
And from time to time some are fortunate enough to land the "big one". World Fly fishing Champion Monty Wright landed a 12 pounder and that same day, guest Dennis Brundell caught a 17 pound brown, and the national headlines!
